INTEL VIETNAM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - MASTER OF ENGINEERING AT RMIT VIETNAM, 2010 - 2013 Scholarship Program to study at RMIT VIETNAM - Saigon South Campus

I. THE SCHOLARHIP PROGRAM
Intel Products Vietnam is pleased to announce Intel Vietnam Master of Engineering Scholarship Program - the 2010-2013 Scholarship program to study Master of Engineering (Electronic and Computer Engineering) at RMIT Vietnam, Saigon South Campus.
The Intel Vietnam Master of Engineering Scholarship Program is two-fold: An Australian degree and an engineering career with Intel in Vietnam. Intel will sponsor Engineering undergraduates from select universities to complete their Master of Engineering (Computer and Engineering) at RMIT Vietnam. Upon graduation, the students will join the workforce of Intel Products Vietnam and begin exciting engineering careers with Intel.

Much More than a Scholarship
The program starts in September 2010 with an intensive English program (if required). In February 2011, students will begin their first academic semester at RMIT. Upon completion of their academic program in 2013, students will receive their degrees then embark on careers with Intel in Vietnam.

II. CONTENT OF THE SCHOLARSHIP AND CONDITIONS

Content
Intel will sponsor full tuition fees for the 2-year Master of Engineering (Electronic and Computer Engineering) and the tuition fees for English courses from 5.5 IELTS level up (if required), all course materials, and a monthly stipend of 70USD for Ho Chi Minh residents and 200USD per month for non-Ho Chi Minh residents. Students can be able to obtain the opportunity to do an exchange semester in RMIT University, Australia. (Scholars will likely need to cover some additional miscellaneous expenses)

. In addition, Intel will provide a professional position at Intel Vietnam upon successful completion of the degree and job interview.

Conditions
. Students are required to enroll in the year in which the scholarship is awarded. The scholarship cannot be deferred.
. The scholarship will be renewed on an annual basis for the duration of the Master of Engineering subject to satisfactory performance of the student as determined by the University. Unsatisfactory academic performance will result in the scholarship being withdrawn.
. The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship at any time if the student does not observe University rules and regulations or does not progress through programs at the normal full-time rate.
. The University reserves the right to change the scholarship program and the structure of its English and Master of Engineering program without prior notice.

III. ELIGIBILITY

The scholarship will be granted base on the following selection criteria:
. Applicants must be Vietnamese nationals.
. Paper based assessment of:
- Recent academic excellence at university (electrical, electronic, communication or computer
engineering related); OR
- Evidence of successful completion of a relevant post-matriculation diploma program of at least
three years duration; OR
- A combination of academic qualification and work in a relevant field
. Strong English language skills: Applicants should have an IELTS score from 5.5 (no band less than 5.0);
or TOEFL score from 530 (TWE from 3.5) or Internet based TOEFL overall score from 71 (minimum 17 in all sections); OR an RMIT Vietnam Academic English Program placement test indicating eligibility to enter the Advanced English course (Level 6)
. Result of an engineering competency assessment invigilated by RMIT Vietnam
. Result of interview with the selection panel made up of representatives from RMIT University and Intel

IV. HOW TO APPLY
If you are an eligible candidate, please send the required documents listed to RMIT at the address given below:

1. Completed Application for Admission to Degree Program form. No application fee is required
2. A notarized copy of university academic transcripts. English translation is required
3. A certified copy of graduation certificate. English translation is not required
4. Evidence of English proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL or RMIT Vietnam’s English Placement Test results)
5. Two 3cm x 4cm passport photos + a certified copy of ID card
6. Letters of reference from your University or employer (if any)
7. Evidence of extra-curricular activities (if any)

Note: Applications will not be returned and incomplete applications will not be considered. RMIT Vietnam is not responsible for applications which are sent by post/courier and do not reach RMIT Vietnam before the deadline.

V. SELECTION PROCESS
In order to obtain the scholarship, applicants must successfully pass all of the following three rounds:

1. Round One: Application Deadline & Selection Criteria Screening
Qualified applicants will be invited to Round Two.

2. Round Two: Qualifying Tests
Applicants who meet basic selection criteria in Round One will be invited to demonstrate engineering and English proficiency.
. Engineering technical knowledge, as demonstrated via a test administered by RMIT Vietnam
. English proficiency (for applicants who submit IELTS score from 6.5 (no band less than 6.0) or equivalent), as demonstrated via the RMIT Vietnam Academic English Program placement test indicating eligibility to enter the Advanced English course (Level 6 or higher)

3. Round Three: Interview
Applicants who pass Round Two will be invited to participate in a panel interview. There will be a behavioral portion of the interview, looking at verbal communication, team building, motivation, problem solving, leadership, creativity, and personal qualities. There will also be a technical portion of the interview.
Applicants who pass all the three rounds and who are able and willing to sign a legal contract accepting an offer of employment with Intel, contingent upon completion of a Master of Engineering degree from RMIT, will be selected for the program. These selected students will be designated “Intel Vietnam Scholars.”

VI. IMPORTANT DATES
1. Application Deadline & Eligibility Screening: August 14, 2010
2. Qualifying Tests: August 28, 2010
3. Interview: September 6-10, 2010
4. Results announcement: September 17, 2010
5. Offer Letter from RMIT Vietnam: September 20, 2010
6. Commencement date for pre program English October 11, 2010
7. Commencement date of the Master of Engineering February 22, 2011
8. Expected Graduation: February 22, 2013
